STYLE FILE: The Holiday's "New Look"

Last weekend for a friend's holiday party, I channeled an "early Betty Draper" and Dior's New Look with this vintage, full skirt.  The sheer, ruffly top lent itself perfectly to be tucked into the high waist, and the platform stilettos kept the look modern.   Some sparkly jewelry and a pop or two of red and I was feeling very holidazzle!

LUST LIST: C.A.R.T.I.E.R Spells LOVE...

You better watch out, you better not cry!  You better not pout, I'm telling you why...

Because only the nicest girls on Santa's list deserve something from the undeniably lust-worthy Cartier Love Collection.

The Love affair began back in the 1970's with the Love Bracelet - which, legend has it, you weren't technically allowed to buy for yourself, but rather it had to be gifted.  A luxurious yet discrete symbol of affection - the bracelet's clasp is a lock which can only be opened with a tiny golden screwdriver, presumably to be guarded by your lover.

The signature bangle Love Bracelet will run you upwards of $4300, although a chain linked version now exists at approximately $1300.  Wedding bands and select pendants are on the slightly more affordable side, and most ring in at under $1000.  Expensive?  Maybe.  But then, who can put a price on Love...?

STYLE FILE: Teal Appeal

 I confess - this outfit was actually from several months ago (hence the shorts).  But I just found it in my archives, somehow skipped over along the way, and figured it deserved a turn...

For a friend's house party in early September, I paired a ladylike blouse with short shorts and sky high heels.  The blouse itself is an Andy Warhol skull print which offers an interesting contrast to it's conservative cut.  And the 5 inch suede Loubs really "pumped" up the look. (I really can't help myself with the puns -- nerd alert!)
