STYLE FILE: The Holiday's "New Look"

Last weekend for a friend's holiday party, I channeled an "early Betty Draper" and Dior's New Look with this vintage, full skirt. The sheer, ruffly top lent itself perfectly to be tucked into the high waist, and the platform stilettos kept the look modern. Some sparkly jewelry and a pop or two of red and I was feeling very holidazzle!

The Love affair began back in the 1970's with the Love Bracelet - which, legend has it, you weren't technically allowed to buy for yourself, but rather it had to be gifted. A luxurious yet discrete symbol of affection - the bracelet's clasp is a lock which can only be opened with a tiny golden screwdriver, presumably to be guarded by your lover.
